Celebrating the first approval anniversary of the EU Cloud CoC, SCOPE Europe’s Head of Monitoring and Auditing, Legal Affairs, Frank Ingenrieth, will be joining Chairman of the Belgian DPA, David Stevens, Policy Officer at European Commission, Witte Wijsmuller, VP and Chief Privacy Officer at Workday, Barbara Cosgrove, and Volkswagen’s Legal Counsel Digital Law, Carmen Schmidt, at a panel entitled “EU Cloud Code of Conduct: 1 Year Anniversary – Operationalising GDPR Compliance”.
The session, which is taking place during the Conference’s opening day, will gather key stakeholders in the co-regulatory process, exploring the added value of codes of conduct in the international data protection landscape.
Against this background – and given the 1-year mark since the approval of the first transnational codes of conduct under the GDPR –, panelists will particularly discuss the impact of the EU Cloud CoC when it comes to their day-to-day compliance efforts, as well as to the general harmonization of best practices globally.
Furthermore, the discussion will also touch upon the unique potential of codes of conduct to tackle the major challenge of international data tranfers post-Schrems II.
