Big data applications harbour a vast potential to improve many areas in society. But to leverage this potential effectively, it is essential to establish an ethical and responsible basis for use. Against this background, as part of the “Innovative Digitisation of the Economy” platform at the 9th National IT Summit, guidelines were drafted seeking to support, in particular, greater transparency in big data.
