Within the EU Cloud Code of Conduct (EU Cloud CoC), cybersecurity is an integral part of the framework. The EU Cloud CoC incorporates and maps key international cybersecurity-related standards and certifications, including ISO 27001, ISO 27017, C5, and SOC 2, to ensure that its requirements remain aligned with the latest global benchmarks.
To keep the Code’s framework current, the EU Cloud CoC community has established a dedicated Mapping Working Group. This group continuously reviews and integrates updates to international standards and emerging frameworks, ensuring the Code remains a comprehensive and relevant compliance instrument.
By harmonizing the EU Cloud CoC’s controls with leading industry standards, the Mapping Working Group enhances transparency, comparability, and efficiency for compliance efforts. This allows cloud providers to leverage their existing security certifications when going through the EU Cloud CoC verification process — streamlining compliance while maintaining the highest standards of accountability.
As cybersecurity threats and privacy challenges continue to evolve, SCOPE Europe and the EU Cloud CoC community remain committed to supporting a secure, transparent, and trustworthy cloud ecosystem for all.
