Ensuring compliance: A year of monitoring the Data Pro Code

SCOPE EuropeNews

Last year, SCOPE Europe received its second accreditation, which was for our role as the Monitoring Body of the Data Pro Code, a Dutch national GDPR code of conduct. This significant milestone marks a year of dedicated efforts to uphold high standards for personal data processing within the Netherlands.

The Data Pro Code, developed by NLdigital, is tailored specifically for micro, small, and medium enterprises, serving as a crucial framework for organizations seeking to align with GDPR requirements and best practices in data processing. In this context and considering our expertise and commitment to GDPR-compliant tools, SCOPE Europe was elected by the Code Owners to become the Monitoring Body of the initiative, pursuant Article 41 GDPR.

Since our accreditation from the Dutch Data Protection Authority as the Monitoring Body for the Code, SCOPE Europe has diligently overseen the adherence process, providing support to numerous companies navigating this landscape. This collaboration with NLdigital underscores our shared commitment to promoting trust, transparency, and accountability in data processing practices.

We have witnessed a growing community of adherent services, which we believe to be indispensable for the protection of data subjects and the harmonization of technical and organizational measures throughout this segment of the market.

The Code's accessible price scheme enables companies to declare adherence, ensuring that compliance is within reach for all. This vital framework levels the playing field, enabling smaller providers to safely operate and compete in the market.

Looking ahead, SCOPE Europe remains committed to the establishment of robust levels of compliance for all-size cloud providers.
