Data Protection for mobile health apps

SRIWNewsmHealth

“Code of Conduct for mHealth apps” developed with SRIW’s assistance now reaches its final draft

The Code of Conduct on privacy for mobile health apps was formally submitted this week for approval by the supervisory data protection authorities. The Code of Conduct aims to facilitate the realisation and implementation of data protection provisions for mobile health app providers and, in this way, promote trust in their products.

In 2014, a European Commission consultation found many smart phone users refraining from installing mhealth apps due to concerns over data privacy and protection.
